Hi, my name is Chris Bates

I grew up on Florida’s Gulf Coast. After high school, I enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard hoping to photograph for the military, but a permanent injury led to an honorable discharge after only 3 years of service. Over the years, my appreciation has only grown for the miracle that is the camera, and I've spent my time after the Coast Guard dedicating myself to the craft. I  live in New York City. I'm also a car nut and travel junkie. So, I bought a cheap 987 Cayman S off Marketplace and drove it (literally) around around the US & to Alaska.
